Getting started with markets.com

Account verification is an initial step in trading that enhances security and helps ensure the integrity of financial transactions. It not only safeguards your account but also ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, providing a safer and more trustworthy trading environment.

At markets.com, account verification is straightforward. The process takes about one business day after all the required documents are submitted.

When you may need to verify your identity

You have to go through our verification process when you set up an account with us.

However, if you are facing problems with your account, you may need to resubmit your documents so we can verify your identity once more.

At times, your request to add funds to your account may be pending. This may occur when the account or payment verification process has not been completed.

If you have any questions or difficulties uploading your documents, you can contact our customer support team.

They will let you know the requirements for your account to be reactivated. We will email you as soon as we have this information.

If the issue persists, you may need to check with your payment provider or contact customer support.

How we verify your account

In line with legal and regulatory obligations, we are required to verify your identity and residential address to protect you and the Group from fraud, as well as guard your privacy.

By opening an account with us, you agree to comply with all applicable anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing laws and regulations.

This includes the submission of documents such as:

Proof of identification – A clear copy of a valid passport. If this is not available, please provide us with a copy of your National ID or driver’s license.

All details must be visible (full name, date of birth, date of expiry, photograph, document number, and full security strip if applicable). Proof of identification that displays initials will not be accepted as proof of identity.

Proof of residence – A clear copy of your bank or credit card statement, utility bill (e.g. water, electricity, gas, landline phone, internet, TV service), or municipality statements.

Note that all details must be visible (full name, address of residence, date of issue of the document, logo or stamp of the issuing company).

Proof of residence documents must have been issued within the last six months. All documents provided must be issued in your name. Third-party documents will not be accepted.

Follow these detailed steps for the account verification process.

What are the benefits of trading with a regulated company?

Down

One of the benefits of trading with a regulated company is that you know you are contracting with a reliable and reputable provider in a secure environment, which has strict rules and guidelines in place, protecting the interests of retail clients. Other legal obligations of a regulated company include, but are not limited to, ensuring financial services are provided efficiently, honestly and fairly, dealing with retail client money in a certain way and having dispute resolutions systems in place in case you are unsatisfied with our services.

However, please note that regulation is not an absolute guarantee of security or reliability. Additionally, being regulated does not change that trading in CFDs and Margin FX products carries a high degree of risk, and you may lose some or all of your invested capital.
