What are Trading hours (Market hours)?

A Normally, the weekly trading sessions in Europe and North American begin on Sunday at 22:05 GMT until Friday 21:00 GMT. During the Day Light Saving times in these regions, market activity begins on Sunday at 21:00 GMT and ends on Friday at 21:00 GMT. Market trading hours may vary due to public holidays or due to unusual liquidity conditions which may arise from exceptional global events. Opening or Closing times may also be altered by Markets.com due to liquidity and risk management considerations. Please be advised that while most of the instruments are traded on a 24 hour basis without interruption, some instruments, mainly shares and indices, have special Trading Hours.

How do I open/close a position?

To open a position:

  • Select the instrument of choice
  • Click Buy - (if you believe the price will go up) – or,
  • Click Sell - (if you believe the price will go down).

To close a position:

  • Click the Close button.

To close a position in the mobile app:

  • Navigate to the Open Positions tab.
  • Find the Close button located directly underneath your instrument.
  • Click Close to close your position.

How do I set a Stop Loss Order and Take Profit?

Once you are in the trading platform:

  • Click Sell/Buy on the instrument of choice.
  • To place a Stop Loss tick, navigate to Stop loss when rate is.
  • Enter the Stop Loss level manually or by adjusting it with the -/+ buttons.

To place a Take Profit Tick:

  • Navigate to Take profit when rate is.
  • Enter the Take Profit level manually, or add it by pressing the -/+ buttons.

*If your position is already open, you can still set Stop Loss/Take Profit by clicking on the Edit button.

How can I see my Trading History?

To view Trading History:

  • Navigate to the Closed Positions tab - (located in the top right of your screen).

In the mobile app:

  • Click the My Account icon, (located in the top right of your screen).
  • Next, find the Closed Positions tab.
  • You’ll then see a list of your Trading History in detail.

  • Navigate to the Open Positions tab - (located in the top center of your screen).

How can I see details of Open Position(s)?

You can view the details of your Open Positions directly below the trading instrument. The direction of your trades, Trading Volume, Entry Price and current Profit/Loss will also be listed. Traders with multiple Open Positions using the same instrument will see relevant data for all open trades listed below the instrument name.

In the mobile app, click on the instrument and select the Details tab.

Where can I see my Profit/Loss?

To view your total P/L (Profit/Loss):

  • Navigate to the bottom left corner of your screen, under Real Money Account.
  • Refer to Open P&L to view total P/L.

To view P/L in the mobile app:

  • Click the My Account icon, (located in the top right corner of your screen).
  • View Open P/L under Funds Management.

Where can I find my Maintenance Margin?

To find your Maintenance Margin:

  • Click the Funds Management tab - (located in the bottom left corner of your screen, relevant to both Real and Demo accounts).

In the mobile app:

  • Click the My Account icon, (located in the top right corner of the screen)
  • Navigate to Funds Management.
  • View your Maintenance Margin.

Where can I see the Required Margin to open a position?

How can I open Entry Limit/Entry Stop Orders?

To open Entry Limit/Entry Stop Orders:

  • Click Sell/Buy on the instrument of choice.
  • To then open a pending order, tick the Advanced option, (located in the New Order window).
  • If you have selected Buy, you will be allowed to place a Buy Limit or Buy Stop Order.
  • If you have selected Sell, you will be allowed to place a Sell Limit or Sell Stop Order.
  • To set your desired level, enter the price manually or use the -/+ buttons.
  • To see your past overs, navigate to the Order History tab (located in the top right of the screen).

  • Log in to your account.
  • Refer to the chart located to the right of the instrument list.
  • Click the + button located in the top left of the chart.
