About

WTID.US refers to the Direxion Daily Energy Bear 3X Shares ETF. This ETF seeks to provide 3x the inverse (opposite) of the daily performance of the Energy Select Sector Index. This index includes companies from the energy sector and includes oil, gas, and consumable fuels companies. Therefore, WTID is designed for investors who believe the energy sector, as represented by the index, will decline on a daily basis and are looking for leveraged inverse exposure. It's a high-risk, short-term trading tool due to the effects of compounding on leveraged ETFs, making it unsuitable for buy-and-hold strategies.

Factors

Oil Prices: WTID.US tracks crude oil, so price swings directly influence its value. Higher oil prices usually mean higher ETF prices.

Supply and Demand: Global oil production, consumption, and inventory levels play a key role. Shortages boost prices; surpluses depress them.

Geopolitical Events: Instability in oil-producing regions or trade disputes can cause price volatility and impact the ETF.

Economic Indicators: Economic growth typically increases demand for oil, driving prices up. Recessions have the opposite effect.

Currency Fluctuations: Since oil is often priced in USD, changes in the dollar's value can influence WTID.US's price.

Storage Costs: High storage costs for crude oil can negatively impact the ETF's performance as it needs to pay for storage fees.

Interest Rates: Interest rate hikes can make holding commodities like oil less attractive, potentially lowering the ETF price.
