About

WEAT.US represents Teucrium Wheat Fund, an exchange-traded fund (ETF) designed to track the daily changes in percentage terms of a weighted average of the prices of three wheat futures contracts. These contracts are traded on the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) and include the second-to-expire CBOT wheat futures contract, the third-to-expire CBOT wheat futures contract, and the CBOT wheat futures contract expiring in the December following the third-to-expire contract. The fund provides investors with a way to gain exposure to the price movements of wheat without directly buying or storing physical wheat.

Factors

Weather Patterns: Adverse weather like droughts or floods in major wheat-producing regions significantly reduces supply, driving prices up.

Global Demand: Increased consumption from population growth or dietary shifts boosts demand, impacting prices.

Government Policies: Subsidies, tariffs, and trade agreements can distort market prices and influence supply chains.

Geopolitical Events: Conflicts or political instability in key exporting countries disrupt supply, raising prices.

Currency Fluctuations: Exchange rates impact the cost of importing/exporting wheat, affecting its competitiveness and price.

Speculative Trading: Investment fund activity and commodity market speculation can create volatility and price swings.

Crop Yields: Higher yields from technological advancements or improved farming practices can increase supply and lower prices.

Storage Levels: High inventory levels indicate ample supply, potentially suppressing prices, while low levels suggest scarcity.
