About

UNL.US represents the United States 12 Month Oil Fund LP. This ETF is designed to track the daily changes in percentage terms of the spot price of light, sweet crude oil delivered to Cushing, Oklahoma, as measured by the daily changes in the average of the prices of the 12 nearest-month futures contracts on light, sweet crude oil traded on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX). In essence, UNL aims to provide investors with exposure to crude oil price movements without directly investing in physical oil. However, due to the nature of futures contract rolling, contango and backwardation can impact the ETF's performance and potentially lead to deviations from the spot price of oil over longer holding periods.

Factors

Global Oil Prices: UNL tracks oil futures, so global oil supply, demand, and geopolitical events heavily influence its price.

Geopolitical Risks: Events like wars, sanctions, or political instability can disrupt oil production and distribution, impacting UNL.

Economic Growth: Strong economic growth often leads to higher oil demand, increasing UNL's price, while recessions have the opposite effect.

OPEC+ Decisions: Production decisions by OPEC+ (Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries) significantly impact oil prices and UNL's value.

Dollar Strength: As oil is priced in USD, a stronger dollar can decrease oil prices, and consequently, UNL's value.
