Factors

Government Bond Yields: Changes in Canadian government bond yields, especially those matching the duration of the ETF's holdings, directly impact its price. Higher yields typically decrease bond prices and the ETF's NAV.

Interest Rate Changes: Expectations of future interest rate hikes or cuts by the Bank of Canada significantly influence bond yields and therefore the ETF's price. Anticipated rate increases usually depress bond values.

Credit Quality: Deterioration or improvement in the creditworthiness of the underlying corporate bonds held by the ETF affects its price. Downgrades lead to price declines, while upgrades cause price increases.

Market Liquidity: The ease with which the ETF and its underlying bonds can be bought or sold influences its price. Reduced liquidity can widen bid-ask spreads and increase price volatility.

Inflation Expectations: Rising inflation expectations can push bond yields higher, reducing the present value of future cash flows and negatively impacting the ETF's price.

Economic Growth: Stronger economic growth often leads to higher interest rates, impacting bond yields and decreasing bond prices. Slower growth can have the opposite effect.

Supply and Demand: Increased demand for MCSB.TO will tend to increase its price, while increased supply will decrease it. This is affected by investor sentiment and fund flows.

ETF Management Fees: The fees charged by the ETF's manager impact the overall return and thus indirectly influence the price relative to other similar fixed-income investments.
