About

FIPFX.US represents the Fidelity Freedom® 2045 Fund. This is a target date fund, meaning its asset allocation strategy is designed to become progressively more conservative over time, shifting from a higher allocation to stocks towards bonds and other less risky investments as it approaches and passes its target retirement year of 2045. The fund is intended for investors who plan to retire around that year and seek a single investment option that automatically adjusts its portfolio composition to manage risk as they get closer to retirement. FIPFX.US invests in a mix of other Fidelity mutual funds to achieve its asset allocation goals.

Factors

Market Interest Rates: Higher rates generally decrease bond prices, as new bonds offer more attractive yields.

Credit Risk: Increased concerns about the issuers' ability to repay principal can lower bond prices.

Inflation Expectations: Rising inflation erodes future purchasing power, decreasing bond value.

Economic Growth: Stronger growth might shift investment away from bonds, reducing prices.

Supply and Demand: Higher supply of similar bonds or lower demand can pressure prices down.
