About

DXP.TO is the Horizons US 7-10 Year Treasury Bond ETF. It is a Canadian-listed exchange-traded fund that seeks to replicate, to the extent possible, the performance of the Solactive US Treasury 7-10 Year Bond Index, net of expenses. This index tracks the performance of U.S. dollar-denominated treasury bonds with remaining maturities of between 7 and 10 years. DXP.TO offers Canadian investors exposure to the U.S. Treasury bond market, providing a potential source of diversification and income.

Factors

Underlying REIT Performance: DXP.TO's price is heavily influenced by the performance of the underlying Canadian REITs it holds. Strong REIT earnings, occupancy rates, and rental growth typically drive up the ETF's price. Interest Rate Environment: Rising interest rates can negatively impact REITs and consequently DXP.TO. Higher rates increase borrowing costs for REITs and make bond yields more attractive, reducing the appeal of REIT dividend yields. Market Sentiment: Overall investor sentiment towards real estate and REITs plays a crucial role. Positive sentiment can lead to increased demand for DXP.TO, driving up its price. Conversely, negative sentiment can cause selling pressure. Dividend Yield: DXP.TO's dividend yield is a significant factor. A competitive yield compared to other income-producing assets can attract investors, supporting its price. Changes in the dividend payout can affect its attractiveness.
