About

BILS.US is the ticker symbol for the SPDR Bloomberg Barclays 1-3 Month T-Bill ETF. This exchange-traded fund (ETF) seeks to track the investment results of the Bloomberg Barclays 1-3 Month U.S. Treasury Bill Index. This index includes all publicly issued zero-coupon U.S. Treasury Bills that have a remaining maturity of greater than or equal to 1 month and less than 3 months. The ETF is designed to provide investors with exposure to very short-term U.S. Treasury securities and is often considered a cash-equivalent or ultra-short-term fixed income investment option, providing a relatively low-risk and liquid way to park capital.

Factors

Bond yields: Rising yields typically decrease BILS's price, as newer bonds offer better returns, and vice versa.

Interest rate changes: Rate hikes can lower bond prices in BILS, reducing its overall value.

Credit risk: Perceived risk of US Treasury bonds defaulting impacts BILS; higher risk, lower price.

Inflation expectations: Higher inflation expectations can erode bond value, lowering BILS's price.

Supply and demand: High demand for short-term Treasuries can raise BILS price, less demand lowers it.

Economic growth: Strong economy can lead to higher interest rates, reducing BILS value.
