About

VIXM.US represents the ProShares VIX Mid-Term Futures ETF. It's designed to provide exposure to the market performance of the CBOE VIX Mid-Term Futures Index. This index measures the expected volatility of the S&P 500 over a period of four to seven months into the future, using prices of VIX futures contracts. Therefore, VIXM aims to profit from increases in expected market volatility as reflected by these mid-term VIX futures.

Factors

VIXM.US, an exchange-traded fund, tracks volatility. Its price is affected by several factors: VIX Futures Prices: VIXM replicates front-month VIX futures. Higher VIX futures translate to higher VIXM prices.

Volatility Expectations: Market sentiment towards future volatility drives VIX futures, influencing VIXM.

Contango/Backwardation: The term structure of VIX futures impacts VIXM. Contango (higher future prices) erodes value. Backwardation (lower future prices) benefits VIXM.

Roll Yield: VIXM buys new futures contracts, "rolling" over expiring ones. Contango creates negative roll yield; backwardation, positive roll yield.

Supply and Demand: Increased VIXM demand raises its price, and vice-versa.

Market Events: Significant market events or news triggers volatility, impacting VIX futures and VIXM.
