About

VCB.TO represents the Horizons Vietnam Stock Access ETF, a Canadian-listed exchange-traded fund (ETF) that aims to provide investment results that closely correspond to the performance of the Solactive Vietnam Total Return Index. This index is designed to reflect the performance of the Vietnamese stock market, primarily consisting of listed companies on the Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi Stock Exchanges. The ETF offers Canadian investors a way to gain exposure to the Vietnamese equity market without directly investing in Vietnamese stocks.

Factors

Underlying Bond Market: VCB.TO tracks Canadian investment-grade bonds. Bond yields and prices move inversely. Rising yields decrease VCB's NAV; falling yields increase it.

Interest Rate Changes: Anticipated or actual changes in the Bank of Canada's policy interest rate significantly impact bond yields and, therefore, VCB's price.

Credit Spreads: Widening credit spreads (difference between corporate and government bond yields) signal increased risk aversion and depress VCB's value.

Inflation Expectations: Higher inflation expectations usually lead to higher bond yields, decreasing bond prices, and impacting VCB negatively.

Supply and Demand: High demand for VCB can temporarily push its market price above its NAV. Conversely, high selling pressure can lower the price.
