About

TBT.US represents the ProShares UltraShort 20+ Year Treasury ETF. This ETF seeks daily investment results, before fees and expenses, that correspond to two times the inverse (opposite) of the daily performance of the ICE U.S. Treasury 20+ Year Bond Index. In essence, TBT is designed to profit from a decline in the price of long-term U.S. Treasury bonds (and a corresponding rise in long-term interest rates) by attempting to provide double the inverse return. It is a leveraged and inverse ETF and, as such, is intended for short-term trading purposes and is not suitable for long-term investment.

Factors

Interest Rate Expectations: Rising interest rate expectations typically decrease TBT's price, as it benefits from falling rates.

Treasury Bond Yields: Higher Treasury yields, especially the 20-year yield which TBT tracks inversely, lower TBT's price.

Inflation: Increasing inflation expectations tend to push bond yields up, decreasing TBT's value.

Federal Reserve Policy: Fed actions like rate hikes or quantitative tightening impact bond yields and consequently, TBT's price.

Market Sentiment: Overall risk appetite affects bond demand; lower risk appetite increases demand for bonds, decreasing TBT's price.
