About

FIG.TO represents the iShares US Financials ETF (CAD-Hedged). This ETF seeks to provide long-term capital growth by replicating, to the extent possible, the performance of the Dow Jones US Financials Index (CAD Hedged), net of expenses. The index measures the performance of the financial sector of the U.S. equity market, hedged back to Canadian dollars. It allows Canadian investors to gain exposure to the U.S. financial sector while mitigating currency risk.

Factors

Underlying Assets: The price of FIG.TO ETFs is directly linked to the performance of the underlying Canadian financial sector companies it holds. If these companies perform well, the ETF's price will likely increase, and vice versa.

Supply and Demand: General market demand for the ETF shares themselves influences the price. Higher demand drives prices up, while increased selling pressure can push prices down.

Interest Rates: Interest rate changes in Canada can affect the profitability of financial institutions held within the ETF. Rising rates may increase earnings for some, while falling rates can have the opposite effect.

Economic Conditions: Overall economic health in Canada impacts the financial sector. A strong economy typically benefits banks and insurance companies, leading to potential gains for the ETF.

Global Events: Significant global economic or political events can indirectly affect the Canadian financial market and therefore, the FIG.TO ETF's value.
